The Only God

Scripture:

4 So now, what about it? Should we eat meat that has been sacrificed to idols? Well, we all know that an idol is not really a god and that there is only one God and no other. 5 According to some people, there are many so-called gods and many lords, both in heaven and on earth. 6 But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we exist for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life. (1 Corinthians 8:4-6 NLT)

I am so glad that I know, and worship, the one and only God! I think that it would be so difficult to try to stay up with what was required to worship all the other things that people consider(ed) gods. Even today, we can get caught up in giving undue attention to other things. What do I put first in my life? Where is my focus? Is it in getting more stuff, more recognition? I want to consistently check myself with these questions.

God, You are my God, and You only do I love and worship. I pray for wisdom to put my focus on the proper things, and not to worry about the little things that come across my path. AMEN

Father, You have done so many miracles for us. Your plans for us are too numerous to list. Thank You for all Your wonderful deeds. Psalm 40
