Greater Things For Our City

Scripture:

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May all who love this city prosper. 7 O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces. 8 For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “Peace be with you.” 9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem. (Psalm 122:6-9 NLT)

Like so many things in this life, we have choices to make. We can choose to complain and whine about the things that we think are wrong in the city, and country we live in, or we can pray for that city and country. When we were living overseas, this scripture was always a reminder to me that I have that choice. I want my city, and my country, to prosper, and to have peace. I can, and should pray. With each new president, we can complain because maybe our ‘favorite’ did not win – or we can, and should pray. Lord, I choose to pray. I pray for prosperity; for Your prosperity, and for peace for my city, and for my country. I pray for wisdom for the leaders of my city, Bend. I pray for wise decisions to be made, for new ideas to be examined, and for the leaders to have the courage and determination to do what they need to do. I pray for our country at this time; for wise and courageous decisions to be made. Thank You, Lord that You are faithful. AMEN Father, my desire is to still and quiet myself as a small child is quiet with its mother. I put my hope in You now and always. Psalm 131
