Can I Be An Example

Scripture:

17 That is the very reason I am sending Timothy—to help you do this. For he is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you of how I follow Christ Jesus in all the churches wherever I go. (1 Corinthians 4:17 NLT)

How important is it to be an example? If I am a leader; in my family, in the church, or anywhere, it is very important to remember that we will always be an example. The question really is: am I a good example or a not so good example?

My Bible lists some scriptures that talks about the idea of being examples:

17 Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. (Philippians 3:17 NLT)

6 So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way, you imitated both us and the Lord. 7 As a result, you yourselves became an example to all the Christians in Greece. (1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 NLT)

16 But that is why God had mercy on me, so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. (1 Timothy 1:16 NLT)

3 Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your good example. (1 Peter 5:3 NLT)

Lord, my choice is to do my best to be a good example; to show my faith in You by trusting You daily, and living by Your truth. I love You, and You are my strength. AMEN

I will thank You, Lord, with all my heart; and tell of all the marvelous things You have done. I am filled with joy because of You. Psalm 9
