Destined

Scripture: 6 “As I was on the road approaching Damascus, about noon, a brilliant heavenly light suddenly appeared, flashing all around me. 7 As I fell to the ground I heard a voice say, ’Saul, Saul…why are you persecuting me?’ 8 “I answered, ‘Who are you, my Lord?’ “He said to me, ‘I am Jesus the Victorious. I am the one you are persecuting.’ 9 “Those who were with me saw the brilliant light, but they didn’t hear the voice of the one who spoke to me. 10 “So I asked, ‘Lord, what am I to do?’ “And the Lord said to me, ‘Get up and go into Damascus, and there you will be told about all that you are destined to do.’ (Acts 22:6-10 The Passion) What this story that Paul was telling, says to me is that God alone is the One who can recognize who is destined to do a job. I would never have thought about Saul, the abuser and persecutor to be the one chosen to do all that he did. Another thing it reminds of is that I should not be quick to question those who are chosen or to even wonder why. God alone knows the hearts and motives of people, and He alone chooses. Father, help me to question who You chose, or even why You chose them. You alone are God and You alone are free to choose. AMEN It is always my realization that my true help comes only from the Lord. He is my Creator who made the heavens and the earth. He will guard and guide me and never forget or ignore me. Psalm 121
