More Convenient Time

Scripture: 24 Several days later, Felix came with his wife, Drusilla, who was Jewish. They sent for Paul and listened as he shared with them about faith in Jesus, the Anointed One. 25 As Paul spoke about true righteousness, self-control, and the coming judgment, Felix became terrified and said, “Leave me for now. I’ll send for you later when it’s more convenient.” 26 He expected to receive a bribe from Paul for his release, so for that reason he would send for Paul from time to time to converse with him. 27 Two years later, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. Before he left office he decided to leave Paul in prison as a political favor to the Jews. (Acts 24:24-27 The Passion) Are we any different about doing the things that we know we should do; or even the things that God asks us to do? Does a more convenient time really come? It is so easy to think, “I will do it later, or tomorrow.” For Felix, it seems that the more convenient time never came. I have people close to me that are looking for that more convenient time to make a decision for the Lord, and time is running out for them. Father, help me not to always be looking for that more convenient time to do the things I need to do, especially the things You ask me to do. AMEN God as I look to you with a passionate longing to please you and discover more of your mercy and grace, I will wait for You the way a maid waits for orders from her mistress. So show me Your grace and Your mercy. Psalm 123
