When It is More Convenient

Scripture:

24 A few days later Felix came with his wife, Drusilla, who was Jewish. Sending for Paul, they listened as he told them about faith in Christ Jesus. 25 As he reasoned with them about righteousness and self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was terrified. “Go away for now,” he replied. “When it is more convenient, I’ll call for you again.” 26 He also hoped that Paul would bribe him, so he sent for him quite often and talked with him. (Acts 24:24-26 NLT)

Just as it was for Felix it can be so easy for us to put things off; and to say, “when it is more convenient”. If we know that we need to put some discipline into our lives, or if we need to get some job done, etc., it can be so very easy to say, “when it is more convenient”. Unfortunately, the more convenient time can be very hard to find. Most of the time, we just need do to it.

Lord, You know how easy it is for me to put off, and try to find a more convenient time to do some of the things that I know I need to do. Help me, and remind me just to do what needs to be done. I love You, and You are my help and strength. AMEN

O God, I praise Your Word. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? I do love You, Lord. Psalm 56
