This Is My Son

Scripture: 14 At first, John demurred. John: “I need to be cleansed by You. Why do You come to me?”
Jesus: 15 “It will be right, true, and faithful to God’s chosen path for you to cleanse Me
with your hands in the Jordan River.” John agreed, and he ritually cleansed Jesus,
dousing Him in the waters of the Jordan. 16 Jesus emerged from His baptism; and at
that moment heaven was opened, and Jesus saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove
and coming upon Him, alighting on His very body. Voice from Heaven: 17 “This is My Son, whom I love; this is the Apple of My eye; with Him I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:14-17 The Voice)
This had to have been an amazing experience for John! But we can have an experience like that when we choose to recognize who Jesus is for us. And it is not only a one time experience, but one that we can have each time we recognize who Jesus is in our life and in our circumstances. I love when I hear Jesus call my name, and I once again recognize Him for who He is in my life. Thank You, Jesus, for being willing to come and go through all that You had to go through so that I, and all those who are willing, can have the relationship, friendship with You that I have. You are so good! AMEN When I think about how much You have helped me I rejoice and sing for joy in the shadow of Your protecting wings. Psalm 63
