She Opened Her Heart

Scripture: 11 From Troas we sailed a straight course to the island of Samothrace, and the next day to Neapolis. 12 Finally we reached Philippi, a major city in the Roman colony of Macedonia, and we remained there for a number of days. 13 When the Sabbath day came, we went outside the gates of the city to the nearby river, for there appeared to be a house of prayer and worship there. Sitting on the riverbank we struck up a conversation with some of the women who had gathered there. 14 One of them was Lydia, a businesswoman from the city of Thyatira who was a dealer of exquisite purple cloth and a Jewish convert. While Paul shared the good news with her, God opened her heart to receive Paul’s message. 15 She devoted herself to the Lord, and we baptized her and her entire family. Afterward she urged us to stay in her house, saying, “Since I am now a believer in the Lord, come and stay in my house.” So we were persuaded to stay there. (Acts 16:11-15 The Passion) And today there are many stories like this happening all around the world; people opening their hearts to the truth of the Gospel. Open hearts are what we can, and should, pray for as people are in a place to hear the truth. It is really open hearts that are ready to hear the Good News. Father, I pray for more and more people to have open hearts to hear the Good News. Help me to have an open heart to hear more of Your truth as it is taught and as I read Your Word. AMEN Lord, continue to direct me throughout my journey so I can experience Your plans for my life. Escort me along the way; take me by the hand and teach me. Psalm 25
