Proper Order

Scripture:

26 What should you do then, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each person has a vital role because each has gifts. One person might have a song, another a lesson to teach, still another a revelation from God. One person might speak in an unknown language, another will offer the interpretation, but all of this should be done to strengthen the life and faith of the community. 40 Just maintain the proper order in all things. (1 Corinthians 14:26, 40 The Voice)
There are a couple of things that stand out to me in this portion of Scripture. First, the need to maintain order. I try to picture what it might have been like in Paul’s day as everyone was trying out new the things they were learning, but without order. Another thing I noticed once again, is that each person has gifts. We need to careful not to forget this. But in the final analyze, whatever is done in a church gathering should be done to strengthen the life and faith of the community. Father, thank You for Your church and for the gifts You have given each of us. Help us to use the gifts properly and in a way that strengthens Your church. AMEN My prayer Lord my God, is that You will show me Your approval. As we see Your miracles at work, let our children and grandchildren see. Psalm 90
