My Burden Is Light

Scripture:

Jesus: “I praise You, Father—Lord of heaven and earth. You have revealed Your truths
to the lowly and the ignorant, the children and the crippled, the lame and the mute. You have hidden wisdom from those who pride themselves on being so wise and learned. 26 You did this, simply, because it pleased You. 27 The Father has handed over everything to My care. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son—and those to
whom the Son wishes to reveal the Father. 28 Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Put My yoke upon your shoulders—it might appear heavy at first, but it is perfectly fitted to your curves. Learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. When you
are yoked to Me, your weary souls will find rest. 30 For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:25-30 The Voice)
Shortly after I became a Christian, for a graduation gift from a distant cousin, I received a book called, “My Burden Is Light”, by Eugenia Price. It is her story, and how she learned that truly the Lord’s yoke is easy and His burden is light. Today as I read this scripture once again, the phrase “it might appear heavy at first, but it is perfectly fitted to your curves.” stood out to me. To me that says that God knows what I need, what I will struggle with, and the path I need to take to grow and mature. Thank You, Lord, that You have placed a yoke on me that perfectly fits my curves; who I am really. You have been so very faithful as I have learned Your ways more and more and the burden has become more comfortable! I love You. AMEN O Lord, You alone are my hope. I have trusted in You since my childhood, and You have been with me. I will always praise You. Psalm 71
