Good Tree – Good Fruit

Scripture: 33 Good trees produce good fruits; bad trees produce bad fruits. You can always tell a tree by its fruits. 34 You children of snakes, you who are evil—how could you possibly say anything good? For the mouth simply shapes the heart’s impulses into words. 35 And so the good man (who is filled with goodness) speaks good words, while the evil man (who is filled with evil) speaks evil words. 36 I tell you this: on the day of judgment, people will be called to account for every careless word they have ever said. 37 The righteous will be acquitted by their own words, and you evildoers will be condemned by your own words. (Matthew 12:33-37 The Voice) You can tell a tree by its fruits, is something that I have been thinking about a lot lately. Does my tree (my life) show good fruit to those around me? And then there is this statement: “For the mouth simply shapes the heart’s impulses into words.” That is hard to hear. Many times I will think about what I have said to someone, and wonder why I said it the way I did, or with the tone or attitude I had. Good tree/good fruit. Heart/our words. So much to consider with this portion of Scripture! Father, I want my life (tree) to bear good fruit. I want my words to come from a heart that is tuned to You and Your ways. Please continue to help me grow and mature. I love You. AMEN As each day, Lord, You pour Your unfailing love upon me I can, and will, continue to sing Your songs. You are the One that gives me life. Psalm 42
