Gulf Between Say and Do

Scripture: 13 Woe to you, you teachers of the law and Pharisees. There is such a gulf between what you say and what you do. You will stand before a crowd and lock the door of the kingdom of heaven right in front of everyone ; you won’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from doing so. (Matthew 23:13 The Voice) Jesus is getting quite public, and quite clear with the teachers of the law and the Pharisees as we read this portion of scripture. There truly is a gulf between what we say and what we do. Talk is cheap and easy, the truth is the doing can be difficult. The saying, “walk the talk” is true. We need to remember that there are always those who are observing us; what we say and what we do. Father, I sincerely do not want there to be a gulf between the words I speak and the deeds I do. Continue to help me consistent with words and actions. Thank You. AMEN My God, teach me to do Your will. May Your gracious spirit lead me forward on a firm footing. Thank You for Your unfailing love.
