Childlike Disciples

Scripture:

25 Then Jesus prayed this prayer: “O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, thank you for hiding the truth from those who think themselves so wise and clever, and for revealing it to the childlike. 26 Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this way! 27 “My Father has given me authority over everything. No one really knows the Son except the Father, and no one really knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” 28 Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke fits perfectly, and the burden I give you is light.” (Matthew 11:25-30 NLT)

Childlike is so different from childish. Childlike is simple in believing, and then acting on that belief. It’s like a child that has complete trust in their parent because they have never had a reason to not believe them, and trust them; so they just trust and believe. When I am in that place of trust with God, I know it because I feel such peace and rest. That is the place that I want to find myself more and more. I can’t, and don’t, want to try to figure everything out without the help of my Father.

God, my Father, I just want to trust and believe. You are my hope and strength, and You do want the best for me and my family. Thank You that You love me enough to want that for me. AMEN

Father, because I fear You, my Lord, I can be happy and delight in doing what You command. I and my family are blessed. Thank You. Psalm 112
