What Is Love?

4 Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. 5 Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, not selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. 6 Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. 7 Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 The Passion)

As I read through this portion of Scripture again and again, I think, I need more of this kind of love. What about you? I was considering if I took one or two of the points and really worked on those, maybe I would grow more of the kind of love I need in my life.

Help me, Father, with my desire to have more of Your kind of love in my life. AMEN

Yes, my God, I say to You, “You are my mountain of strength.” I will not be discouraged for I know You are there for me. Living before You is my saving grace. Psalm 42
