What Is Enough Faith

Scripture:

14 When they arrived at the foot of the mountain, a huge crowd was waiting for them. A man came and knelt before Jesus and said, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures and suffers terribly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. 16 So I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him.” 17 Jesus replied, “You stubborn, faithless people! How long must I be with you until you believe? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy to me.” 18 Then Jesus rebuked the demon in the boy, and it left him. From that moment the boy was well. 19 Afterward the disciples asked Jesus privately, “Why couldn’t we cast out that demon?” 20 “You didn’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.” (Matthew 17:14-21 NLT)

What is enough faith? That is a question I often ask myself. Jesus says that we could do amazing things if we had the faith. What does faith feel like? How do we exercise it? It seems that I can have faith for certain things, and then with other things, it is not so easy. I want to increase in my faith. I want to be able to believe God for more. I truly want to see mountains move.

Father, You know my heart, and what I want to believe You for. I know that You are God, and that You are able. I want to have enough faith to move the mountain. I love You, and You are my hope and strength. AMEN

Father, even though I am only like a breath of air or a passing shadow, You care for me always. You are my shield and refuge. Psalm 144
