Touching The Children

Scripture: 13 One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. 14 When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them. (Mark 10:13-16 NLT) How often we would look at things differently than the way Jesus does, and the way he wants us to. The disciples were sure that Jesus would not have time for the children, and yet Jesus said that they were the very center of life in the kingdom. Then he used their childlikeness as an example for all of us. The simplicity and joy of children is so precious! How do we allow ourselves to lose that? Life is hard, and sometimes complicated. Now that Jim and I are grandparents, it is such a delight for us to continue to watch Jesse, Jude, and Zane grow and observe their individual personalities. As they learn new things, we are so thrilled! When they return affection and love, it fills our hearts. We need to be learning from these experiences about the love and joy that the Lord has for us as we respond to Him, and learn and love. First of all, Lord, thank You so much for Jesse, Jude, and Zane and all the delight and joy they bring to us! Then, I pray that You will help me not lose my delight and joy in You and Your love for me. I love You. AMEN Your goodness, O God, is so great! You have stored up blessings for those who honor You. I thank You always. Psalm 31
