Paul’s Prayer

Scripture:

16 I haven’t stopped thanking Him for you. I am continually speaking to Him on your behalf in my prayers. Here’s what I say: 17 God of our Lord Jesus the Anointed, Father of Glory: I call out to You on behalf of Your people. Give them minds ready to receive wisdom and revelation so they will truly know You. 18 Open the eyes of their hearts, and let the light of Your truth flood in. Shine Your light on the hope You are calling them to embrace. Reveal to them the glorious riches You are preparing as their inheritance. 19 Let them see the full extent of Your power that is at work in those of us who believe, and may it be done according to Your might and power. (Ephesians 1:16-19 The Voice)
As I read through Paul’s prayer in Ephesians a couple times this morning, I thought this is something I (we) can pray for those we love and influence. And for myself as well.
• Give them (me) a mind ready to receive wisdom and revelation to truly know God
• Open the eyes of their (my) hearts so the light of God’s truth can flood in
• Shine Your light on the hope of all God is calling them (me) to embrace
• Reveal Your glorious riches that You are preparing for them (me)
• Let them (me) see the full extent of Your power working in them (me)
• May all this be done according to Your might and power Yes, Lord, truly may all this be done! You are so very good and so faithful in my life! I love You. AMEN Reverence for the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. The rewards of wisdom come to all who obey Him. Praise Him forever. Psalm 111
