Keep Awake And Alert

Scripture:

34 For those days can be compared to a man who was about to leave on a journey, but before leaving he placed his servants in charge and gave each one work to do while he was away. Then he commanded the watchman to be on guard at all times. 35 So I say to you, keep awake and alert – for you have no idea when the master of the house will return; in the evening, at midnight, at four o’clock in the morning, or at dawn. 36 Be alert for he’s coming suddenly and may find you sleeping! 37 And what I say to the four of you, I say to everyone – be awake at all times! (Mark 13:34-37 The Passion)
Stay awake and alert! This is something that Jesus says to us more than once, and in more than one way. It can be so easy to let things slide; to not read the Bible consistently, to not pray, to not fellowship, to not praise. To say I will do it tomorrow or maybe even the next day. Just to be God-conscious and aware in our daily lives is so important! One way Jesus tells us how to be aware is like a servant that watches the master for what is needed next. Lord God, I want to be the servant that is watching You, and aware of what You are saying to me and what to do next. Thank You for Your lessons and ways forward. AMEN Father, with my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, my holy God! How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness You’ve done for me? Psalm 103
