Is There Another Way

Scripture: 39 Then he walked a short distance away, and overcome with grief, he threw himself facedown on the ground and prayed. “My Father, if there is any way you can deliver me from this suffering, please take it from me. Yet, what I want is not important, for I only desire to fulfill your plan for me.” Then an angel from heaven appeared to strengthen him. (Matthew 26:39 The Passion) 42 Then he left them a second time to pray in solitude. He said to God, “My Father, if there is not a way that you can deliver me from this suffering, then your will must be done.” (Matthew 26:42 The Passion) This is a time when Jesus really shows us that He had emotions and feelings just as we do. He knew what He was facing, but once again put our future with God ahead of the pain and suffering He would endure. I always want to be strong enough to be able to say, ‘not my will, but Yours be done’. Not always easy at all. Father, today I am once again so thankful that Your Son put my future ahead of His own feelings. Help me to always say with conviction, ‘not my will, but Yours be done’. I love You. AMEN You truly are the God of my life, and I lift You high, exalting You to the highest place. So I will keep on giving my thanks to You, for You are so good! Your constant tender love lasts forever!
