His Attitude

Scripture: 1 If you find any comfort from being in the Anointed, if His love brings you some encouragement, if you experience true companionship with the Spirit, if His tenderness and mercy fill your heart; then, brothers and sisters, 2 here is one thing that would complete my joy—come together as one in mind and spirit and purpose, sharing in the same love. 3 Don’t let selfishness and prideful agendas take over. Embrace true humility, and lift your heads to extend love to others. 4 Get beyond yourselves and protecting your own interests; be sincere, and secure your neighbors’ interests first. 5 In other words, adopt the mind-set of Jesus the Anointed. Live with His attitude in your hearts. (Philippians 2:1-5 The Voice) What is the attitude of our Lord Jesus? It can say something to us today as live and work with others. Sometimes, many times, it is difficult to get past thinking about our wants and needs before we think of others. But here is what Paul is saying to the church at Philippi (and to me today):
• Try coming together in one mind and purpose
• Share the same love
• Don’t let a selfish and prideful agenda take over
• Embrace true humility
• Extend love to others
• Get beyond yourselves and the need to protect your own interests
• Be sincere in securing your neighbors’ interests first
When we look at all of this, we can see it is not an easy task. We will not be able to do it our own strength, but only with the help of the Holy Spirit. Father, I pray that You will help to better live my life with Your attitude in my heart. AMEN Lord, You alone are my strength and my shield. I trust You with all my heart as You daily help me. My heart is filled with joy. Psalm 28
