Full Of Faith

Scripture:

3 “Now look around among yourselves, brothers, and select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom. We will put them in charge of this business. 4 Then we can spend our time in prayer and preaching and teaching the word.” 5 This idea pleased the whole group, and they chose the following: Stephen (a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit), Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas of Antioch (a Gentile convert to the Jewish faith, who had now become a Christian). 6 These seven were presented to the apostles, who prayed for them as they laid their hands on them. (Acts 6:3-6 NLT)

55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily upward into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand. (Acts 7:55 NLT)

Stephen was a man known as being full of faith, and the Holy Spirit. As he served, he performed miracles and signs among the people. This caused some of the religious people to accuse him unfairly, and to bring him before the high council. And there he was being falsely accused, and his face became bright as an angel’s. Then he told the story of God, and how He had led the people, and they couldn’t handle that. At the end, he still was full of the Holy Spirit and only looked to heaven, and forgave his accusers. Amazing! The only way I, or any one, can stand against false accusation is to be full of faith and the Holy Spirit. That can only happen if we apply faith to the small things of life, and then grow in our trust and faith in the one true God. Each day, as we face whatever comes our way: We will have the choice to make – do I trust God or do I despair?

God I say again today; I trust You and Your unfailing love for me, and for my family. You are good, and I love You. AMEN

Father, Your ways are holy, and there is no God as mighty as You. You alone are the God of miracles and wonders. Thank You. Psalm 77
