Do You Have Questions?

Scripture: 18 John’s disciples reported to him in prison all the wonderful miracles and the works Jesus was doing. 19 So John dispatched two of his disciples to go and inquire of Jesus. 20 When they came before the Master, they asked him, “Are you the coming Messiah we’ve been expecting, or are we to continue to look for someone else? John the prophet has sent us to you to seek your answer.” 21 Without answering, Jesus turned to the crowd and healed many of their incurable diseases. His miracle power freed many from their suffering. He restored the gift of sight to the blind, and he drove out demonic spirits from those who were tormented. 22 Only then did Jesus answer the question posed by John’s disciples. “Now go back and tell John what you have just seen and heard here today. The blind are now seeing. The crippled are now walking. Those who were lepers are now cured. Those who were deaf are now hearing. Those who were dead are now raised back to life. The poor and broken are given the hope of salvation. 23 And tell John these words: “The blessing of heaven comes upon those who never lose their faith in me no matter what happens.” (Luke 7:18-23 The Passion) John had faithfully carried out the job he was sent to do, and yet here he was in prison with time to begin to question and wonder about things. How easy that can be; to begin to question! I remember a time as we were preparing to move to Jamaica sitting on the steps of a church that was helping us. We had lots of questions because things were not going quite the way we had expected them to go. We asked the questions, prayed with confidence that God was with us, and got up and continued forward. God is not afraid of our questions, but He does want us to never lose faith no matter what happens. Father, You have been so faithful to us as we have walked the path You have led us on. My prayer is that we will continue in faith to do the things You have ahead for us. AMEN Lord God, I just want to obey all You ask of me. So continue to teach me, for you are my God. Your gracious Spirit is all I need, so lead me on good paths that are pleasing to You. Psalm 143
