Chosen By God

Scripture: 19 Then the angel said, “I am Gabriel. I stand beside God himself. He has sent me to announce to you this good news. 20 But now, since you did not believe my words, you will be stricken silent and unable to speak until the day my words have been fulfilled at their appointed time and a child is born to you. That will be your sign!” 26-27 During the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, the angel Gabriel was sent from God’s presence to an unmarried girl named Mary, living in Nazareth, a village in Galilee. She was engaged to a man named Joseph, a true descendant of King David. 28 Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Grace to you, young woman, for the Lord is with you and so you are anointed with great favor.” (Luke 1:19-20, 26-28 The Passion) When the time was right, and God began to put in place the people and all the things that were to happen, it happened quite fast. Each of the people that God chose had to believe, had to do their part. First Zechariah, and he had a difficult time believing because he saw it to be impossible because of he and Elizabeth’s ages. Then the young girl, Mary. How amazing, and even terrifying, this must have been for her, but she said ‘yes’! And Elizabeth, she believed as soon as Mary came into the room and her baby danced in her womb. Chosen by God to bring to bring about the announcement and birth of the Son of the Highest! And now, as children of God, we are all chosen to do works of God if we only believe. Father, what a privilege You have now given us, Your children. We can continue the work You have given each of us. I want to believe. I want to do You work and will. AMEN Lord God, I want to live my life before Your face. I want my words and my ways to always agree. Following Your Word has kept me from wrong, and Your ways have molded my footsteps. Psalm 17
