As He Always Did

Scripture: 16-17 When he came to Nazareth, where he had been raised, he went into the synagogue, as he always did on the Sabbath day. When Jesus came to the front to read the Scriptures, they handed him the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and read where it is written, 18-19 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and he has anointed me to be hope for the poor, freedom for the brokenhearted, and new eyes for the blind, and to preach to prisoners, ‘You are set free!’ I have come to share the message of Jubilee, for the time of God’s great acceptance has begun.” (Luke 4:16-19 The Passion) “As he always did.” The people wanting to hear from Jesus, knew that they could always count on Him to be in the synagogue on the Sabbath. Even the Son of Man had the disciplines that would help him to do what God had sent Him to do. We/I so much more need to have spiritual disciplines in our/my life that will help us/me to stay on the path God has laid out for us/me. Thank You, Father, that Your Son came to give us life, to set us free. Thank You for His example to us of spiritual disciplines that we can use in our lives to stay on Your path for us. I love You and Your ways. AMEN A life that pleases the Lord is a life lived in the gratitude of grace, always choosing to walk with Him in what is right. This is the sacrifice He desires. Psalm 50
