Alert And Thankful

Scripture: 2 Pray, and keep praying. Be alert and thankful when you pray. 3 And while you are at it, add us to your prayers. Pray that God would open doors and windows and minds and eyes and hearts for the word so we can go on telling the mystery of the Anointed, for this is exactly why I am currently imprisoned. 4 Pray that I will proclaim this message clearly and fearlessly as I should. (Colossians 4:2-14 The Voice) Paul, in this last part of his letter to the Colossians (and also to the church of Laodicea) talks to them about praying. He says pray, and keep praying (a good word to us today). When you pray, he says, be alert and thankful. Being thankful is such an important part of our prayers. He then goes on to mention so many people; friends and co-workers. Another reminder of an important part of our prayer life; prayers for others. Father, I’m thankful for prayer. I’m thankful that I have a Father that listens to my prayers and responds with His unfailing love. And then there is the privilege of praying for others. AMEN Truly the Word of the Lord holds true and all that the Lord does is worthy of our trust. His unfailing love fills the earth. Psalm 33
