A Cheerful Giver

Scripture: 6 But I will say this to encourage your generosity: the one who plants little harvests little, and the one who plants plenty harvests plenty. 7 Giving grows out of the heart—otherwise, you’ve reluctantly grumbled “yes” because you felt you had to or because you couldn’t say “no,” but this isn’t the way God wants it . For we know that “God loves a cheerful giver.” 8 God is ready to overwhelm you with more blessings than you could ever imagine so that you’ll always be taken care of in every way and you’ll have more than enough to share. (2 Corinthians 9:6-8 The Voice) True and cheerful giving starts in the heart. Giving that has been given because of pressure is not what God wants for us. Paul wanted to encourage generosity. I believe that is what God wants for us as well. Truly planting little will give little harvest. I am keenly aware of that right now as we are planting our garden. So as with giving, we plant plenty and then enjoy the harvest. Thank You, Lord, for showing us in such practical ways the truth of being a cheerful giver. We will continue to give, and then receive and enjoy the harvest that You give. You are so very good to us. AMEN I take joy in doing Your will, my God, for Your law in written on my heart. I am filled with joy and gladness and say “The Lord is great!” Psalm 40
