This Same God
Reading: Philippians 4; Psalm 116 And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 NLT) Chapter 4 of Paul’s joy-filled letter to the Philippians is like a treasure chest filled with Jewels of Truth just lying there for the taking! Look, here’s an incredibly precious truth! 6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NLT) See, here’s another!
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13 NLT)
And here’s the one I need today!
And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 NLT)
Paul understood that This Same God who loved the world so much he sent his Son to save us cared for him and about him and his present situation and needs. And we know that This Same God who cared for Paul cares for you and me!
This Same God will provide for you and for me! And he provides for us not only out of our own resources or abilities or our personal savings account (limited), but out of his glorious riches (unlimited), made available to us through the gracious gift of life in Jesus Christ!
Prayer:
Father, Thank you for reminding me this morning that you are This Same God. Everything you were, you are. Everything you did, you do. You took care of Paul. You will take care of me and my friends and family. And it’s all because of Jesus and not because of our goodness or ability. You are This Same God! Amen.
