God Knows Me Now

Reading: 1 Corinthians 13; Psalm 145

12 Now we see things imperfectly as in a cloudy mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God knows me now. 13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:12-13 NLT)

This morning as I was reading I thought, “Father, today I need something simple that speaks clearly about me and about my life and about my ‘right now’.” Then I read 1 Corinthians 13:12-13 and there it was, “..God knows me now!”

God will reveal what we need to see when we need to see it, and he will tell us what we need to know when we need to know it. Only God has control of that part. In the meantime, God knows me now – completely – and he knows what I need to see, know, and do today.

I thought about the words of Jesus; “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” (Matthew 6:34 MSG)

In the complexities and questions of my life, right now three things are important:
• Faith – Trust steadily in God.
• Hope – Hope unswervingly.
• Love – Love extravagantly.

God knows you completely and he knows you right now! Whatever your situation right now, I invite you to join me in a commitment to simply do these three things: Trust steadily in God, Hope unswervingly, Love extravagantly. Are you in?

Prayer:

Father, I renew my determination to trust steadily in your unfailing love and faithfulness. I purpose to maintain an active hope in the fulfillment of your plans, purpose, and provision for my life. I will think less about me and more about others and will let your love pour out of me to others who need to be loved. Thanks for speaking to me clearly and simply this morning. Just what I need! Amen.
