God Has A Plan

Scripture: 10 The two parties were about to start throwing punches, and the commandant was afraid Paul would be torn to pieces, so he sent in his soldiers to intervene. They took Paul back into custody and returned him to their barracks. 11 That night the Lord came near and spoke to him. The Lord: “Keep up your courage, Paul. You have successfully told your story about me in Jerusalem, and soon you will do the same in Rome. 12-13 Than morning a group of more than 40 Jewish opponents conspired to kill Paul. They bound themselves by an oath that they wouldn’t eat or drink until he was dead. 14 They told the chief priests and elders about their plan. Jewish Opponents: “We’ve made an oath not to eat or drink until this man is dead. 15 So you and the council must ask the commandant to bring Paul to meet with you. Tell him that you want to further investigate Paul’s case. We’ll get rid of the troublemaker on his way here.” (Acts 23:10-15 The Voice) Many times people, like the Jewish opponents, might have a plan that they feel is the right plan, one that will work. But if God has a plan, we can be sure that is the plan that is right and good. It is so sad to see the extreme ways the Jewish opponents would go to to defeat the Good News of the gospel. 5 The plans of the godly are just; the advice of the wicked is treacherous. (Proverbs 12:5 NLT) 1 We can make our own plans, but the LORD gives the right answer. (Proverbs 16:1 NLT) 9 We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. (Proverbs 16:9 NLT) So the question we probably need to ask is, “What is God’s plan?” And then to be willing to allow His plans to work. Paul must surely have wondered at times what God was going to do, but he was willing to trust God to fulfill the purpose he had for him. Father, I know You have good plans for me; for Jim and me. We will trust You with Your plans. You are so very faithful and trustworthy! Thank You. AMEN Show me where to walk, Lord, as I come to You in prayer. Teach me to always do Your will for You are my God. I trust Your unfailing love. Psalm 143
