Focused And Alert

Scripture: 5 But you must stay focused and be alert at all times. Tolerate suffering. Accomplish the good work of an evangelist, and complete the ministry to which you have been called. 6 For I am already being poured out, and the last drops of this drink offering are all that remain; it’s almost time for me to leave and cross the threshold to the next world. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have stayed on course and finished the race, and through it all, I have kept believing. 8 I look forward to what’s in store for me: a crown of righteousness that the Lord—the always right and just judge—will give me that day (but it is not only for me, but for all those who love and long for His appearing). (2 Timothy 4:5-8 The Voice) How important are these words from Paul to Timothy to us today! It can be easy to get caught up in the ways of the world if we do not stay focused and alert. It is good to do some self-checks from time to time to see if we are slipping off course. Paul was confident that he had stayed the course and finished the race. Through all that he suffered he had kept believing. Father, I want to stay the course and finish the race You set before me. I will kept believing and living by faith. Thank You for always being there for me with Your unfailing love and care. AMEN Lord, I know that what You want is my true thanks. Giving thanks is a sacrifice that truly honors You, so I once again say thanks. Psalm 50
