A Good Student

Scripture: 10 You have been a good student. You have closely observed how I have lived. You’ve followed my instructions, my habits, my purpose, my faith, my patience. You’ve watched how I love and have seen how I endure. You have been with me 11 through persecutions and sufferings—remember what they did to me in Antioch? in Iconium and Lystra? I endured all of it, and the Lord rescued me from it all! 12 Anyone wishing to live a godly life in Jesus the Anointed will be hunted down and persecuted. (2 Timothy 3:10-12 The Voice) Paul is once again encouraging Timothy, and giving him some words to help him. To have someone say we have been a good student is a very positive affirmation. Paul was confident that as Timothy had observed his life and followed his instructions, he had seen Paul’s purpose, faith, patience, his love, endurance, and his life. Now it will be Timothy’s turn to do the same. Paul has mentored no one more privately and successfully than Timothy. Now he charges him to exhort the next generation. Lord, how I live my life for You is so important. I know that there are people that observe me. Help me to live with purpose, faith, patience, love, and endurance. You are faithful to me, and I love You. AMEN The heavens tell of the glory of God. The skies display His marvelous craftsmanship. Day and night they make Him known. Psalm 19
