Never Give Up

Never Give Up

Today’s Reading: Job 34-37; 1 Corinthians 1-3

God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that. (1 Corinthians 1:9 MSG)

Some mornings when I read the chapters from my daily Bible reading plan, I’m ready for deep thought and fresh revelation. Some days, my real need is simply to be reminded of things I already know – the simple, solid, foundational truths of faith.

Today, God’s Word and God’s Spirit reminded me of these profoundly simple truths:
• God got me started in this journey – this spiritual adventure. God loved me, drew me to himself, and started me on a life-long journey of faith – a journey out of darkness into light.
• God gives me the life of his son Jesus Christ. God placed the eternal life that is in Jesus Christ in me! I share the life of God’s Son, Jesus Christ.
• God gives me his Holy Spirit to comfort, teach, and guide me. God does not leave me to wander the twisting pathways of life, guessing at which way to turn, trying to read a ragged map. God is with me and in me by his Holy Spirit. Which way now, Holy Spirit?
• God will never give up on me. If others are disappointed in me, if I feel like giving up on myself, God will never give up on me!

Maybe this is what you need to hear from God today… He will never give up on you! Never forget that!

Father, Thanks for this gracious, patient, gentle reminder to me and my fellow-travelers. You will never give up on me. You will never give up on us! We’re counting on it! Please don’t let us ever forget it! You will never give up on us! Amen.
