It Is Useful

Scripture: 13 But evil people and impostors will flourish. They will deceive others and will themselves be deceived. 14 But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. 15 You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. (2 Timothy 3:13-17 NLT) This is such a clear word about the importance of reading scripture, and applying it to our lives! Paul says here that the Word teaches, corrects, prepares, and equips us for what God has for us to do. God’s Word is useful in these ways:
• Shows us truth
• Exposes our rebellion
• Corrects our mistakes
• Trains us to live God’s way God’s Word is powerful! It really does speak to me, and help me to change. It is what I depend on. I want more and more to be taught, corrected, prepared, and equipped by it so that I, more and more, will do the things that God has purposed for me to do. Lord, this is my prayer: that I will listen more and more to You through the reading of Your Word. I don’t want to miss what You are saying to me. I love You, and I love Your Word. AMEN Shout with joy to the Lord. Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before Him singing with joy. Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are His. We are His people. Psalm 100
