In All He Did

In All He Did

20 July 2009

In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful. (2 Chronicles 31:21 NLT)

I love Hezekiah’s story! After generations of loss and drifting away from God, one man, in one lifetime, used his position, influence, and energy to move the nation of Judah back to God.

Instead of following his father’s pattern of seeking the approval and protection from the pagan nations around him he sought God’s approval and protection. Instead of embracing the idol-worshiping values of his neighbors and their culture, he led his people to worship God with all their hearts. As a result, the nation prospered, the people prospered, and everything turned around. In one lifetime!

I want to use my influence and energy to make things better. I want to help people turn their lives around and see the restoration of what has been lost.

The key I see in Hezekiah’s story is to make every effort to seek God wholeheartedly (his will, his way, his timing), to choose to respond to God’s will in faith consistently, and to honor God alone in all I say and do. May I be successful.

May you be successful today as you seek God’s will and way and honor him in all you do and say!

Father, I purpose to honor you in all I do and to seek your will, your way, and your timing. May I be successful in all I do. May you bring success to every one of my friends who is reading this today as they commit to seek you wholeheartedly and honor you in all things. Amen.
