Inner Beauty

Scripture:
3 It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry, or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. 4 No, your beauty should come from within you—the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit that will never be destroyed and is very precious to God. 5 In this same way the holy women who lived long ago and followed God made themselves beautiful, yielding to their own husbands. 6 Sarah obeyed Abraham, her husband, and called him her master. And you women are true children of Sarah if you always do what is right and are not afraid. (1 Peter 3:3-6 NCV)
Observation:
The beauty of the woman Peter is talking about does not fade or wear out with age. It is a beauty that shines out of her from within her.
Application:
It is so easy to get caught up in what to wear, how do I look – that’s what the world tells us is important. But God says here through Peter, that it is our inner beauty that is important. That is what I want. I want the beauty of Christ living in me to be what people see.
Prayer:
Lord, I pray for more and more of you in me so that I have the inner beauty that shines out. Help me to develop a gentle and quiet spirit. I love you and you are my strength. AMEN
Today I thank you for our special Jesse Boy. He is the child that you gave to our family and we are so happy and grateful. Psalm 113:9
