Think About It

Scripture:

13 So prepare your minds for service and have self-control. All your hope should be for the gift of grace that will be yours when Jesus Christ is shown to you. 14 Now that you are obedient children of God do not live as you did in the past. You did not understand, so you did the evil things you wanted. 15 But be holy in all you do, just as God, the One who called you, is holy. 16 It is written in the Scriptures: “You must be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:13-16 NCV)

Observation:

Why live holy lives? It is because God has made a way for us to be His children and He says we must be holy because He is holy.

Application:

I remember when my grandson, Jude was learning to go down the stairs, if he started in a way that could cause him hurt, we would say to him, ‘think about it’ and he would turn and go down the safe way. So we need to ‘think about it’ and walk in the safe and holy way that God desires for us to walk.

Prayer:

Thank you God, that I can call you Father. Help me to hear your voice that says to me like we say to Jude, ‘think about it’ so that I truly can live a holy life for you. I love you and you are my strength. AMEN

Everything you do, Lord is good and fair; all your orders can be trusted. You are kind and merciful; holy and wonderful. Psalm 111:4, 7, 9
