Have Faith in God

Scripture:

20 The next morning as Jesus was passing by with his followers, they saw the fig tree dry and dead, even to the roots. 21 Peter remembered the tree and said to Jesus, “Teacher, look! The fig tree you cursed is dry and dead!” 22 Jesus answered, “Have faith in God. 23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, fall into the sea.’ And if you have no doubts in your mind and believe that what you say will happen, God will do it for you. 24 So I tell you to believe that you have received the things you ask for in prayer, and God will give them to you. 25 When you are praying, if you are angry with someone, forgive him so that your Father in heaven will also forgive your sins. [ 26 But if you don’t forgive other people, then your Father in heaven will not forgive your sins.]” (Mark 11:20-26 NCV)

Observation:

The disciples continued to be amazed that Jesus could do miracles. Jesus just kept talking to them about faith and believing. He knew what was ahead for them and that they would have to have faith to survive. He also knows what is ahead for us and that faith is essential to live the life God has for us.

Application:

Have faith in God. Jesus continues to say that today. I want to hear his words and respond to them. I want to believe completely.

Prayer:

My God, again I say I will believe. I determine to be a person of faith and to believe what you say to me and to act on it. Thank you for your faithfulness to me. I love you. AMEN

God's Word is true, and everything he does is right. He loves what is right and fair: the Lord's love fills the earth. Psalm 33:4
